The guidance is principally aimed at enterprises with a well-defined management structure, where occupational safety and health management can be integrated into the general management system.
These guidelines are aimed at employers, employees, safety representatives, safety committee members and safety and health practitioners. They are a guide to sections 25 and 26 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (No. 10 of 2005), hereafter called the 2005 Act.
These guidelines are designed to help an employer or self-employed person to manage safety and health at their place of work. When the guidelines refer to safety and health, they mean the safety, health and welfare of workers while at work.
This guidance is aimed at business leaders, owners, managers and those who control work activities at all workplaces. It will help those who have responsibilities under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005.
